Backyard Game – Play Cornhole for Fun ... huh?

I must admit when I began to research the backyard game, that I had never heard of Cornhole before … ummm … well I had … but it was not something people played in their backyard with all their clothes on … LOL!

Actually, Cornhole is a bean bag toss game. Folks in Cincinnati, Ohio are claiming to have invented it, but I have strong suspicions that it comes from deeper south than that. Very similar to horseshoes, Cornhole is made up of two wooden boards set at a slight incline, sporting a small hole that a bag can be tossed thru … and of course, the bags … 8 of them to be exact … filled with dried corn. Made from all natural products, it is a very green game so no animals are harmed in the making of your Cornhole set.

Played by two teams with two players each, one player from each team stands at each board. Boards should be set approximately 27 feet apart. Stand across the yard from your board, and toss your corn bag. The players at one board alternate throwing until all 8 bags (4 for each team) have been thrown. Go for the hole-in-one or try to knock your opponent's bag off the board. You can score one point for sticking your bag on the board, and three points for a ringer right into the hole.

Cornhole can be played by anyone of any age and requires no particular skill, just the desire to have a good time! It makes a terrific beach game and is a great party game. Cornhole bags are best if thrown with your dominate hand, leaving your other one for such necessities as a cold beer or a grilled hot dog. No reason to stop the competition to take on nourishment!

There is even “The American Cornhole Association” … go figure … LOL! These guys are serious ...
This crazy backyard game is simple to learn, totally addictive and competitors face off for the honor of being King of the Cornhole … so go forth, Cornholers, and let the backyard games begin!

There is even an official Cornhole song ... oh MY!

Here are the Lyrics:

Everybody used to call me unatheletic.
And grant it, my vertical leap is still pretty pathetic
But now I'm the champion on the tailgate scene
Eight bags, two boards, two holes--That's all I need.

Most sports require all sorts of skills
But I prefer the ones I can do while consuming meals
You gotta try it before you knock it. Try to name anotha sport to top it
where you can win with an open cold one in your back pocket

Who would-a thought that a couple a guys could
